Low Cost for Recarpeting My Car

It has been weeks now, actually, almost a month already and I still have not received the promised reimbursement of the cost for my car parts replacement and repair. I am just depending on this expected money which I will use to get my car recarpeted.

A Scratch Proof Car?

It has been almost a year since I had my car’s body repaired. The finish has been fantastic but after a few months, the natural wear an tear of things set in. I’ve had some scratches on the hood and sides of the car. I am starting to wish that my car had those scratch proof metal frames like those of some metal buildings. But I am taking this as a challenge. I will start working on it soon.

Saving Money Doing It Yourself

After almost P15,000 spent our Nissan California is running normally again after it was submerged in flood. The only things I haven’t done yet are the replacement of the carpet on the floor and the leak test. I had it estimated and it will cost me about P5,000. I need have that done to make sure that when we get the new carpet, it won’t get soaked on water again. I also had the holes on the floor checked and patched up. (more…)

What Car Owners Read About

Most car owners would rather read magazine articles or blog posts about top ten cars and tools rather than top weight loss pills.  The reason is obvious.  Most car owners are concerned with stuff about their cars and what tools can be used to make their car better or what tools can make car repairs more efficient.  That is just the natural inclination of most car owners.

Got an Emergency Plan for Evacuation?

Another typhoon is expected to hit Metro Manila, Philippines. Those who have been victimized by floods of Ondoy are now wary of what might happen again. Some have thought about getting a motor home which they can use to evacuate themselves and other important things to higher ground.

Cheap Car Insurance? Think Again…

Vehicle owners who tried to save money by buying cheap car insurance here in Metro Manila are now gnashing their teeth because they chose the cheaper amount in exchange for the acts of God coverage. I have heard some say that for a few thousand pesos difference they would have gotten the acts of God coverage in their car insurance. (more…)

Advantages of a Thin Mechanic

I have a friend mechanic who’s so thin he usually does not need to use a jack to lift the vehicle because he easily slides under. He did not have to use weight loss pills. His body’s just that way. That is probably an advantage because there are some services that he wouldn’t need to send time to jack up vehicles he’s repairing. It saves time and effort so a job is finished at lesser time.

Tips to Increase Chances of Passing the Smoke Emission Test

Here in the Philippines, major cities in Metro Manila employ teams of anti-smoke belching units to test trucks and vans that pass through their area of coverage. A lot of the trucks usually have expired results of their smoke emission test and so are requested to be tested on site. Usually, these vehicles do not pass the said test. (more…)

What I Did After My Car Got Flooded

I, finally, am able to use my car again after it got flooded. What I did with it was 1) drained the fuel in the tank, 2) flushed out the oil, dirt and water in the engine, 3) replaced the oil in the engine, 4) cleaned and re-oiled the gears, 5) conducted a major tune-up, 6) serviced the brakes and the 7) electrical system. Start Spening Smart During This Crisis

The recent typhoons have made me think about how I can lessen expenses on car repairs and cleaning.  I made use of used oil for flushing out water from the engine, had my car’s carburetor cleaned and I did the interior cleaning on my own. (more…)
